Martin Simpson, the Island's Fossil Man and renowned palaeontologist, and his excellent team offer an inspiring, educational, entertaining and unique experience including a talk on fossils, dinosaurs, evolution and the Island's geology/history using a variety of real fossils, some of which may be handled, followed by one of their multi award winning fossil hunting trips on one of five local beaches, selected for their abundance of fossils and other interesting geological features. Anything found on the beach can be kept. There is also a chance for groups to look around the shop and buy some fossils and gemstones. Tide permitting there will also be the opportunity to see dinosaur footcasts and the Island's fossil forest. Trips last approx 2 - 3 hours and are run all year round. With over thirty years experience and having won the My Isle of Wight Award for being the Best Land Based Activity on the Island for the last three years running and a Trip Advisor Award of Excellence, these trips make a truly fascinating and memorable visit.
